Ken Savio Appointed as US Equities Chief for Macquarie

Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) appoints Ken Savio as managing director and head of is securities in the US. The newly appointed chief was the former head of global entities at Cantor Fitzgerald.

Savio will start on May 16 as Macquarie continues to build its business in the US. He will oversee the bank's equities, sales, trading, research, and derivative operations. He will report to three senior executives: Stevan Vrcelj (group head of the bank's securities), Todd Steinberg (global head of Derivatives Delta One) and Tim Bishop (president and CEO of Macquarie Capital in the US).

Macquarie has been adding banking talent for its business in the US. The company has hired Fehmi Zeko, Gregory Hefner, John Nelson and David Fleck.

Fehmi Zeko was hired to handle the bank's media and telecommunications. Gregory Hefner and John Nelson were recently brought on as managing directors. David Fleck is appointed as president and CEO of Macquarie Capital Markets in Canada.

The bank has appointed David Fass as CEO of operations for the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
