Super Retail Group $60.6m Profit, Up 73.5%

Leisure retailer, Super Retail Group (ASX:SUL) have reported its first half financial results to its shareholders and investors.

  • Super Retail Group Net Profit $60.61 million, up 73.5 percent from $34.94 million.
  • Super Retail Group owns various retail brands including, Super Cheap Auto, BCF, Rebel Sport, Amart, Ray's Outdoor and Goldcross Cycles.
  • Revenue from continuing operations up 36.6 percent to $1.037 billion from $759 million in the previous corresponding period.
  • Super Retail Group Managing director Peter Birtles said, "The sales and margin performance in each of the Supercheap Auto, BCF, Rebel and Amart businesses has continued to be very pleasing and the Ray's Outdoors business has delivered a strong improvement when compared to the prior comparative period. We have experienced very pleasing like-for-like sales growth in our Fishing Camping Outdoors business and early signs from the Goldcross Cycles store within a store trial are positive but both these businesses continue to incur losses with additional costs incurred in restructuring the Cycles business."
  • Super Retail announced an interim dividend of 17 cents per share, up 31 percent on the previous interim dividend.
  • Like-for-like sales up by 5.2 percent in the auto division, 2.8 percent in the leisure retail division and 8.3 percent in the sports category. Like-for-like excludes new and closed storefronts.
