Alara Uranium (AUQ) is a mineral exploration and development company engaged in the acquisition of tenements that are prospective for uranium. AUQ has its projects in Peru, the Northern Territory and Western Australia. Alara Uranium was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on May 24, 2007. AUQ Pampacolca Project Applications are located approximately 7 to 12 kilometers south of the town of Pampacolca. The Company’s five exploration tenements are situated mainly in the northern part of the Ngalia Basin in the Northern Territory (located approximately 390 kilometers north-west of Alice Springs). The Company’s Western Australia projects consist of Mt James (Gascoyne Region), Mt Lawrence Wells (East Murchison Region) and Canning Well (Pilbara Region).
Peru is one of the principal mining countries. It is a top five producer in several base and precious metals, consisting of copper and gold. The presence of some of the world’s major mining companies in Peru has greatly supported the AUQ’s confidence in Peru's mining and contractual laws. Even though the Company has been engaged in the mining for a long time, its mineral potential is outstanding due to the continuous discoveries of minerals.
Alara Uranium pursues to explore opportunities in uranium as well as in other mineral commodities. This consists of pegging of tenements, entering into joint ventures, taking options over and acquiring tenements, projects and joint venture interests, in Australia, Peru and other countries.
