Albidon (ALB) is a mineral exploration and development company mainly focused on the exploration in Africa with an emphasis on nickel and platinum group elements (PGE). Albidon was founded in 2000. It has developed a large portfolio of nickel sulphide projects ranging from development stage to grass roots exploration, in the past seven years. Albidon was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 26 March, 2004. At present, Albidon intends to make the transition from explorer to miner. ALB’s projects are mainly located in the Grenville belt, and span Zambia, Malawi, Botswana, Tanzania and Tunisia. The Albidon’s Selebi-Phikwe project consists of 20 contiguous prospecting licences including an area of approximately 17,466 square kilometers in the eastern part of the Central District of Botswana. The project includes prospective ground to the west, south and east of the Selebi-Phikwe Nickel Mining District, having nickel-copper incidences, as well as the Lipadi Hill deposit.
The Company’s development activities are principally focused on three areas including: development of the Munali Nickel Deposit in Zambia, conduction of exploration programs on its large portfolio of nickel, uranium and zinc projects elsewhere in Africa, including joint ventures; and the evaluation of new business development opportunities.
Albidon has licences in southern and eastern Zambia, which are prospective for substantial uranium deposits, as validated by the recently announced Indicated Resource for Njame North Prospect.
The Company has a highly experienced team of Board and management having a diversity of skills in exploration, mining, metallurgy, concentrate marketing, logistics and project finance in Africa and in other places.
Albidon History
On 11 April 2000, Albidon was integrated with the BVI under the International Business Companies Act with a focus on acquiring mineral exploration and development assets in Africa. The company was dual listed on both AIM and ASX stock exchanges, in March 2004. ALB’s has its head office based in Nedlands.
