Allied Gold (ALD) is a mineral exploration company engaged in exploration, evaluation and development of gold deposits and other mineral resources. Allied Gold was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 8th of December, 2003. The Company has its operations in Western Australia. ALD operates in two geographical divisions: Australia and Papua New Guinea. Allied’s projects consist of Tabar Islands Gold Project, Simberi Oxide Gold Project, Mapimi Project, Monakoff Project, Mandilla Project and Red Dam Project. The Company holds 87.5% interest in the Simberi Mining Joint Venture (ML136) on Simberi Island and a 100% interest in EL 609, which covers the remainder of the Tabar Island Group outside of ML 136. Allied owns an exploitation license covering an area of approximately 3,938 hectares in the Mapimi mining district of the Sierra Madre Occidental. The Company’s Red Dam gold project is situated near Coolgardie, Western Australia and is comprised of P16/1577 and P16/1578, and applications for M16/344 and P16/2078. Allied is also engaged in the exploration of islands of Simberi, Tatau and Big Tabar for new gold resources.
Allied has also devised the Mobile Mineral Processing Evaluation Unit (MMPEU). MMPEU is a relatively small, relocatable plant that can treat various mineral ores at a rate of 25tonnes/hour, which ALD believes to have worldwide commercial applications.
Allied Gold History
Allied Gold was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) on December 8, 2003 via Initial Public Offering. The company merged with US Listed Nord Pacific Limited, which had a 50% interest in the Simberi Gold project, in September 2004. ALD completed its acquisition of the remaining 50% in the Simberi Gold project in November 2004, after reaching an agreement with the Simberi Gold Corporation.
