Allstate Explorations NL (ALX) is a mineral exploration company. The Company is mainly focused on the production of gold via its participation in the Beaconsfield Mine Joint Venture (BMJV), which operates the Beaconsfield Gold Mine in north east Tasmania. Allstate Explorations NL was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on June 18, 1969. The Company’s head office is located in Perth. The Company holds a 51.51% direct interest in BMJV. The Beaconsfield Gold Mine is situated 40 kilometers by road northwest of Launceston. The orebody, named the Tasmania Reef, is a gold-bearing, quartz-carbonate-sulphide vein having a fault structure, which transgresses a series of Ordovician sedimentary beds.
ALX is the manager of the BMJV. Allstate Explorations NL approved the transfer of Newmont Australia Limited’s shareholding in the Company to Beaconsfield Gold NL (BGNL) on April 30, 2007. BGNL became the Company’s parent entity as a result of this transfer. BGNL had about 90.1% ownership interest in the Company and an overall 94.9% equity interest in the Beaconsfield Gold Mine as of July 12, 2007.
