Ampella Mining (AMX) is a mineral exploration company mainly focused on the exploration and development of gold and zinc deposits in Birimian stratigraphy of Burkina Faso. Burkina Faso is located in the north of Ghana, West Africa. The Company was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 13 August, 2007. Ampella has four secured tenements spanning an aggregate area of 937 square kilometers. Its Doulnia Project consists of a single granted exploration permit which covers a combined area of 247 square kilometers. The Doulnia project is situated 150 kilometers south-southeast of Ouagadougou. The Madougou project is spread over an area of 465 square kilometers and is sited 180 kilometers northwest of Ouagadougou. The Donko Project has one granted exploration permit having an aggregate area of 225 square kilometers.
Ampella was created with a purpose of utilizing the significant skills and experience of its Board and key management team to discover the quality mineral assets in Burkina Faso.
According to the Directors of Ampella, Burkina Faso is under-explored as compared to other West African countries, especially with regard to the commodities it seeks. The Directors also consider the country as a prospective for the discovery of economic mineral deposits.
Ampella aims at maximizing the shareholder value by pursuing the exploration of zinc and gold assets in its portfolio.
