Aquila Resources (AQA) is an explorer and producer principally focused on the searching of coal, gold and copper deposits. The Company’s tenements are primarily located in Australia. Aquila listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 29 June, 2000. Aquila's coal projects in Australia comprises Isaac Plains Coal Project, situated in the south east of the town of Moranbah in the Bowen Basin in central Queensland; Belvedere Coal Underground Project, based in the southern end of the Bowen basin near the town of Moura in Central Queensland; Peak Downs East Underground Coal Project, which is situated in the south of the Isaac Plains Mine area, and Bowen Basin Projects. The Company’s key iron ore projects are Western Pilbara and Eastern Pilbara. In the Pilbara region of Western Australia Aquila has applied for 15 exploration licences for iron ore. AQA considers iron ore to be an important commodity of the future, along with coal and gold. During fiscal 2007, Aquila acquired the Red Hill project near Moranbah, thus expanding its wholly owned tenement holdings in the Bowen Basin Project. The Company also incorporated Aquila Energy (S Africa) (Pty) Ltd during the fiscal year ended June 30, 2007.
