Further Reading
Aragon Resources (AAG) is a mineral exploration Company with an extensive portfolio of gold, uranium and nickel exploration assets situated in Western Australia. Aragon was listed on the Australian Stock exchange on 10th of August, 2007. Yandal Belt Gold-Uranium project, Kimberley Gold project and Kambalda Gold-Nickel project are Aragon’s three principal projects.
The Yandal Belt Project spans over an area of 1352 square kilometers of the Yandal Greenstone Belt in the northeastern goldfields of Western Australia. Aragon has a geological database, consisting of target generation work acquired from AngloGold. Apart from the gold prospects two major uranium anomalies have also been discovered within the Yandal Belt Project from airborne radiometric data. The anomalies occur in similar geological environments as palaeochannel calcrete type uranium deposits and are situated in a proven and well endowed uranium rich province. The Company has discovered a number of grassroots gold and nickel targets at Kambalda and Kimberley Project, which are comparatively less advanced than those at the Yandal Belt Project. Castile Resources Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Westgold, signed an agreement on May 9, 2007, to take over the rights and interests in various mineral tenements and other assets from Aragon.
The Company aims to maximize the shareholder value through discovery of economic mineral deposits and the development of profitable mining operations.
