Ashburton Minerals (ATN) is a resources company principally engaged in the exploration of gold and nickel. The Company has its tenements located mainly in Australia and Brazil. Its core projects are in Pocone and Crixas, Brazil with Ashburton Project located in Western Australia. During the fiscal 2007, the Company had been mainly involved in the investment and exploration of advanced and potential mineral projects chiefly located in Brazil. Ashburton listed on the ASX on April 19, 1994. The Company also trades on the Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin and Stuttgart Stock Exchanges in Germany. Ashburton also operates in Australia and it has Mt Webb copper-gold project in Western Australia and several other interests in Western Australia and New South Wales. The Company carries out its Brazilian activities through its wholly owned subsidiary, Trans Pacific Gold Pty Ltd (TPG) and its Brazilian subsidiary, Trans Pacific Gold Mineracao Ltda (TPGM). ATN's principal focus in fiscal 2007 was the exploration of gold within the Cuiaba Gold Project in the state of Mato Grosso in central Brazil.
Ashburton Minerals' projects in Brazil and Australia are prospective for huge economic deposits to produce large long-term returns to shareholders. The Company’s team consists of experienced and skilled geologists which gives it a strong technical and scientific advantage in discovering prospective projects and accomplishing successful exploration strategies.
Ashburton Minerals History
Ashburton Minerals (ATN) listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 19 April 1994. The Company’s shares are also traded on the stock exchanges in Germany. In 2005, the ATN took a decision to sell its subsidiary, Wirralie Mines (the owner of the Drummond Basin Project), in favour of focusing its attention on the projects located in Brazil.
