Asian Masters Fund (AUF) is a Company that invests in a portfolio of established Asian based equities funds. The Company provides a medium for Australian investors to gain access to Asia-based fund managers that invest in equities traded on Asian financial markets. Orient Pacific Partners Pty Limited is manager of AUF and administrates the investments of the Company. AUF listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 4th of December, 2007. Asian Masters Fund is not a managed investment scheme but a Company. AUF uses a "fund of funds" style strategy for investment. It means that the company does not directly invest in securities traded on an exchange rather it invests in managed investment schemes and funds that make investments in a diversified portfolio of funds. AUF does not have any direct possession in Asian listed equities.
The fund provides Australian based retail investors with an opportunity to invest in large and established Asian-based fund managers that do not have products in Australia. AUF offers potential for lower entry costs, as the manager of the Asian Masters Fund (the Orient Pacific Partners) may be able to discuss fee discounts and rebates, comprising any upfront entry costs. Through investing in Asian Masters Fund the investors will only have to pay tax consequences for investing in an Australian company trading on the ASX. The fund also provides a direct exposure to a range of funds, managed by an experienced manager, having widespread contacts and expertise in evaluation of Asian markets and Asian-based fund managers.
