Atlantic (ATI) is engaged in the business of pearl marketing. The Company sells South Sea Pearls. Atlantic operates in Myanmar while its management and marketing services are provided in Australia. Atlantic listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 11th of June, 1987. The key focus of the Company during the fiscal 2007, was on the development of the hatchery in Myanmar, the pearl farming operation in Myanmar and pearl marketing. On completion of the Deed of Company Arrangement (DOCA), the Company is currently engaged in pearl production in Australia. Atlanic commenced its pearl production on August 8, 2007. ATI markets Pearl Product from the pearl farms in Myanmar and in return gets its payment in the form of commission. From the past few years the Company has been exporting Myanmar pearls to Australia and selling them directly to wholesalers.
At present the Company is focused on seeking potential pearl markets. It is also developing a comprehensive marketing plan for its operations. The Company’s new Board is looking for further projects and business opportunities outside pearl marketing with the aim of increasing shareholder wealth. Atlantic picks those locations for its pearl farms that are rich in nutrient levels and have lower levels of barnacle infestation. This has enabled the Company to produce high quality pearls.
