Australian Agricultural Company (AAC) is a large and established beef cattle Company in Australia. The principal activities of the Company incorporates operating grazing and farming lands, breeding of cattle, growing, feedlotting and trading and other activities related to wholesale marketing of meat. Australian Agricultural Company floated on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) on August 10, 2001. The Company employs 500 people and manages 565,000 beef cattle. AAco supplies beef to both domestic and export customers. AAC is organized into two business segments: cattle and farming operations, and wholesale beef. AAco is the operator of 24 cattle stations and 2 feedlots spread across Queensland and the Northern Territory. It owns a land of around 7 million hectares making up approximately 1.2% of Australia’s land mass. The Company’s main operations are managed from Brisbane. ACC formed a strategic merger with Redisland Australia Limited in September 2007. The Company’s feedlots are quality assured and registered, providing cattle in accordance with the Meat Standards of Australia grading system. AAC’s feedlots and backgrounding areas have won environmental awards. The Company operates leading composite breeding programs in Australia and holds a proven track record of environmentally sensitive use of land.
Australian Agricultural Company History
In 1824, Royal Charter formed AAC in the United Kingdom. AAC was incorporated in New South Wales in 1976 through domicile transfer. Its incorporation was moved to Queensland in 1989. Before the IPO of mid-2001, Futuris Corporation (FCL) owned the company with its operations were managed through Elders Australia Ltd, a subsidiary of FCL.
