Babcock & Brown Capital (BCM) is an investment fund. The fund aims to create a portfolio of investments which offer flexible investment time horizon. BCM listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 14th February, 2005. In August 2006, the Company acquired a 57.1% share in a telecommunications company, eircom Group plc. The Company focuses its development activities through two business segments: its telecommunications division caters principal investments and investment management services to the telecommunications sector, and its corporate division manages those funds of the Company that remain from investing in the entities outside of the Company. BCM principal operations are located in Australia and Ireland. On August 1, 2007, BCM acquired G.P.M. Classified Directories (Management & Marketing) Ltd, also known as Golden Pages Israel. Babcock and Brown is the manger of BCM.
BCM intends to make major investments in only a small portfolio of businesses which enables it to focus its efforts and work with management to increase their value with time. The fund investments are not limited to investment concentration, physical location or gearing, or a pre-defined investment horizon. Investments are held while they continue to meet the Babcock & Brown Capital's investment objectives.
