Blackgold International Holdings (BGG) and its operating subsidiaries carry on the businesses of coal mining and coal trading. The company, based in the People's Republic of China, owns and operates the Caotang Mine and has entered into agreements to acquire the operating assets of the Heiwan Mine. BGG produces thermal coal for domestic consumption.
Blackgold International Holdings was listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) on 22 February 2011. The company was incorporated under the laws of Australia as a public company limited by shares on 08 July 2010.
Caotang Mine
Caotang Mine is located 14.4km NNE of the Fengjie town centre in Chongqing, China. The corners of the mining lease area extend from longitude 109°31′00’’ to 109°34′09’’ East and latitude 31°06′47’’ to 31°09′45’’ North. The coordinates of the major adit portal are 109°31′27’ E and 31°08′15’’N at an elevation of 435.13m. Access to the site from Fengjie is eastwards along a good bitumen road via Yong’An for 12.7km to the mine site turnoff 8km due south of the mine offices. The mine access road is along a single lane gravel road from this turnoff with few passing points for a winding 20km to the offices at an elevation of 440m.
Heiwan Mine
Heiwan Mine is located 27km NE of the Fengjie town centre, that is 16km west of the Baidi port site on the Yangtse River, with an elevation of 1,120m. Trucking distance to the Fengjie Jinpeng coal dock is 35km. Access from Fengjie twon centre is via bitumen country road eastwards through Yong’An for 31.8km covered in half an hour to the mine turnoff. The mine site is 4km north of the turnoff through a single lane gravel road covering 10km and rises 640m.
Wu Shan County
Wushan county stands in the easternmost, locates in the heart of the Three Gorges Reservoir areas, bordering Hubei Badong in the east, Hubei Jianshi in the south, Fengjie in the west, Wuxi in the north, the dimensions is 2958 km2 ,it has jurisdiction over 25 villages and towns, the total population is 630,000. The lowest elevation is 156m, the highest elevation is 2680m.
Coal is the mainstay industry of Wushan county, currently, 50% of the whole county’s financial revenue is coal; the coal output program between “Twelfth Five Years” is as follows, it will be predicted up to 2.50 million tons in 2011, 3 million tons in 2012, 3.50 million tons in 2013, 4 million tons in 2014, 5.40 million tons in 2015. Maojiawan coal mine is the key enterprise which supported by the Wushan government, the coal output between “Twelfth Five Years”will be rounded up to one-third of the whole county.
