Brookfield Australian Opportunities Fund (BAO) is a fully integrated property and funds management business with activities in commercial, retail, and residential property development, construction, management services, and infrastructure.
Following the acquisition of Multiplex by Brookfield Asset Management Inc, the Multiplex Group de-listed from the ASX in December 2007 and in January 2008 became a wholly owned subsidiary of Brookfield Asset Management Inc which is listed on the New York and Toronto stock exchanges under the symbol BAM and on the Euronext, under the symbol BAMA. In Australasia, the group employs approximately 1,500 people and has a reputation for quality, innovation and the successful delivery of major projects.
Brookfield Residential Properties delivers high quality, award-winning residential projects across the globe. We have a substantial portfolio of apartment, mixed use and communities’ projects across Australia and over US $5 billion of residential assets under management world-wide.
In Australia, the Multiplex Group was acquired by Brookfield Asset Management in 2008 and Brookfield’s Australian operations now include commercial office, retail, construction and development, property management services and infrastructure. Brookfield’s Residential division comprises a number of different development companies around the world, ensuring our customers benefit from Brookfield’s collective knowledge, skills and experience from award-winning projects in Australia, New Zealand and North America. Brookfield’s residential business in Australia adopted the name Brookfield Residential Properties in September 2010.
