Further Reading
Car Parking Technologies (CPZ) is involved in car parking technology business since its acquisition of Meter Eye Ltd in 2011. Car Parking Technologies was listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) on 9 January 2007.
With a range of products marketed under the "Smart" brand, the company is proud to offer industry driven leading edge systems to commercial parking operators and regulatory authorities throughout New Zealand, Australia, Asia, the UK and Middle East.
The systems can be installed in car parking buildings and open parking areas, and range from guidance systems (guiding drivers to vacant parks), to innovative overstay technology that remotely advises parking wardens of offending vehicles. Because the system is based around a modular approach, it is also able to offer car counting solutions, fixed and mobile automatic number plate recognition solutions as well as valet management options for casinos and hotels. The system communicates using wireless technology which means deployment is accelerated and the infrastructure required and disruption associated with installation is minimised.
To maintain market leadership in the highly competitive parking industry CPT understands the need to be technology driven. To that end, CPT maintains an on-going and successful research and development programme and is continually looking to further improve its technology offering as well as opportunities to innovate.
Together with this philosophy and successful industry partnerships CPT is well placed to supply and consult world leading parking solutions worldwide.
Car Parking Technologies Company History
The NZ company was founded in 2003 by New Zealand businessman, entrepreneur and inventor Paul Collins. Since then the company has grown into a global business offering innovative parking solutions worldwide.
In late 2009, the Company entered into an exclusive contract with Town and City Parking (UK) Limited (TCP). TCP is the largest and fastest growing parking management company in the UK, managing over 1000 sites across the country. The collaboration is expected to see TCP roll out CPT systems to between 300 and 500 new and existing sites over the next five years.
In February 2011, the New Zealand registered company formerly called Meter Eye Ltd was 100% acquired by Australian publicly listed company Car Parking Technologies Ltd. As a result of this acquisition, the Meter Eye brand no longer exists and both the Australian and NZ companies now operate under the name Car Parking Technologies Ltd (CPT).
