Carbon Polymers (CBP) is a best of breed recycling company that delivers on environmental, social and commercial levels. They have invested a considerable amount of resources into developing a state of the art recycling facility in Sydney. The company's aim is to deliver solid cash flows and growth and be a global leader in technologically advanced recycling. Although they are not yet a multinational corporation, they do have the ability to make a significant impact in both commercial and environmental terms.
Carbon Polymers was listed in Australian stockmarket (ASX) on 3 September, 1970. It has operated as a General Investment company spread over a range of diversified investments. CBP recently went through a restructure where they have changed the focus of the group to recycling and the re-manufacturing plastics and hydrocarbons. This refocus has led to the company to identify significant commercial opportunities that will drive their commercial imperatives.
Tyre Collections
Carbon Polymers tyre business, Tyre Collections Pty Limited (TC), collects used and damaged tyres from retail partners and local governments and recycles them under strict environmental regulations.
TC has state of the art collection technology that is being deployed across a network of retail outlets. TC currently collects tyres in New South Wales, but will expand nationally. They are able to collect and process all types of tyres from motor cycle through to mining trucks. The collected tyres are processed in their plant in New South Wales.
TC’s tyre collection business is the foundation of their extrusion business. A significant portion of the tyres collected go into their plant to be processed into fine rubber crumb and turned into hi tech polymer composites.
Plastic Extrusion
The company's plastic extrusion business utilizes European extrusion technology that can deliver high value plastics across a wide spectrum. These plastics include High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Medium Density Polyethylene (MDPE) and Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE). They also process other plastic products.
The plant was designed to fulfill both their internal requirements to produce composite polymers and also to produce pellets to supply to wholesale manufactures.
