Cardno (CDD) is a consulting engineering services Company providing professional services in physical and social infrastructure. CDD extends services in the areas of civil and structural engineering, materials testing, international development assistance; and environmental and management planning. The Company operates in Australia, North America, the United Kingdom and Africa. Cardno listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 20th May, 2004. Cardno is headquartered in Brisbane, Australia and to date it employs 3,360 staff, with around 104 offices located around the globe. On September 11, 2007, it acquired Buckland Engineers Australia Pty Ltd (Buckland Engineers Australia). Buckland Engineers Australia is a provider of structural engineering services. It acquired Bowler Geotechnical Pty Ltd, a materials-testing services provider on February 22, 2008. Bowler Geotechnical is providing Cardno with testing and geotechnical services across Australia and worldwide. Cardno acquired Micro Drainage Limited on March 5, 2008. Micro Drainage offers storm water drainage design software in the United Kingdom and Ireland. In September 2008, the Company completed the acquisition TBE Group Inc. Telstra Stadium, which was the venue of the 2000 Olympics, was designed by Cardno. Cardno’s customer base comprises federal, state and local governments, professional firms, as well as global development assistance organisations such as the World Bank and the United Nations.
Cardno History
Cardno group was originally evolved from Cardno & Davies, an engineering practice which commenced operations in Queensland in 1945, with a focus on providing civil engineering consulting services to the public and private sectors for the development of the State's infrastructure. In 1999 the Cardno & Davies group formed a merger with McMillan, Britton & Kell Pty Ltd, a consulting practice based in New South Wales, with its origins dating back to 1936 to create Cardno MBK. Since then the company is expanding through the acquisitions of local practices and organic growth of its existing operations. It floated on the ASX on 20 May 2004. In July 2005, the company formed a merger with ACIL Australia.
