Carlton Investments (CIN) is an investment management company. Its core business activities include the acquisition and long-term holding of shares and units in listed Australian entities, with a particular focus on high-yielding blue chip shares. Carlton Investments listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 30th June, 1970 and its head office is located in Sydney, Australia. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2008, CIN held 100% interest in Carlton Hotel Limited, Eneber Investment Company Limited and The Manly Hotels Pty Limited. The Company’s investments in Australian Companies consist of Babcock and Brown Capital, Babcock and Brown Infrastructure, Bluescope Steel, Commonwealth Bank, Mirvac, Orica, St George Bank, Step-Ups, Tabcorp, Telstra, Ten Network Holdings and Wesfarmers. Through its large investment in AHD, the Company’s portfolio is mainly exposed to the banking and tourism and leisure sectors.
Carlton Investments History
The Company was incorporated in 1928 in New South Wales to acquire the capital of Carlton Hotel Limited and Ebenezer Investment Company Limited. The Company was the owner of the Pacific Hotel, Manly, in the 1940s and 1950s, which was later purchased by Rex Investments Limited in 1955. CIN became floated on the Australian Stock Exchange in February 1971.
