Coca-Cola Amatil Company History
In 1930, the Coca-Cola Company was established in Australia. However, the British Tobacco Company registered as a public company of Australia in 1927, purchased a scheming interest with the Coca-Cola Bottlers. This was the first association of the British Tobacco with the Coca-Cola Company. In 1977, the British Tobacco transformed their name to Allied Manufacturing and Trading Industries Limited (AMATIL) and they have begun expanding their products internationally.
In 1989, because of the merging, they combined the company names into one making it, Coca-Cola Amatil. In addition, in 1991 they expanded their South East Asia businesses with the development of corporations with the Indonesian Pan Java Group and Indonesian Tirtalina Group.
In the following year, the United Kingdom’s United Biscuits bought the snack foods division of the company. The company later then opened their new plant in Brisbane, Australia.
The company took over the operations in Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines Incorporated from the Coca-Cola Company and the San Miguel Corporation (SMC) in 1997. In 2004, The Coca-Cola Amatil started an automatic managing facility and also made the confirmation of the purchase of the Crusta Fruit Juices and Quenchy Crusta Sales. Quirk’s Refrigeration was also acquired in the same year.
