The company's major focus is on the Skardon River Kaolin Project. MSC first listed on the Australian stockmarket (ASX) on 20 November 1996. Company activities were relatively diverse until 2003 when MSC decided to focus primarily on kaolin production. The efforts to specialise culminated in the sale of MSC's feldspar and mineral processing facilities in 2003.
