Commonwealth Diversified Share Fund (CDF) is an investment unit trust operating solely in Australia. CDF makes investments in accordance with its investment goal and the provisions of the Fund's Constitution. Commonwealth Diversified Share Fund listed on the ASX on June 5, 1998. The core activity of the Fund is to track the performance of the Australian share market as measured by the S&P/ASX 200 Accumulation Index (assuming reinvestment of distributions, but before fees and expenses) by making investments in a varied portfolio of listed Australian securities. The Fund’s portfolio is well diversified across a range of companies and industry sectors, and currently it holds investments in more than 200 stocks. This diversification allows CDF to provide smoother returns and minimised risk to investors. The risk is reduced as performance is not dependent on just few stocks which means if shares in one sector of the portfolio under-performs, the impact on the overall returns of the Fund may be balanced by the better performance of shares in other sectors. By investing in CDF, investors can have access to the benefits of investing in all industry sectors including telecommunications, media, banking and finance. Commonwealth Investments Services Limited (CISL), which is the 100% controlled entity of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, is the manager of Commonwealth Diversified Share Fund.
