Compass Resources (CMR) is a mineral explorer and producer with a core focus on base metals, gold and uranium projects. During the year ended December 31, 2007, the Company has been principally engaged in the exploration and evaluation of base, energy and precious metals together with the exploitation of an oxide resource in the Northern Territory. Compass Resources listed on the ASX on 5th of November, 1987. The Company’s base metals resource has a potential for more than 84 million tons, having a uranium resource of around 14.5 million pounds of U3O8, based in the in the highly rich Rum Jungle field in the Northern Territory. CMR owns the Browns/Browns East/Area 55/Mt. Fitch Projects through Guardian Resources Pty. Ltd, a 100% owned subsidiary of the Company. CMR has a 90% interest in Fitch Projects, with remaining interest held by Guardian Resources Pty. Ltd. The Company also holds interests in other exploration assets based in New South Wales, Australia, and Peru. It has a 70% interest in the Nangali Gold Project in Peru. Its Brown Oxide project facility is designed with an annual targeted production of 10,000 tons of copper, 1,000 tons of cobalt and 750 tons of nickel from the oxide ore, lying over the surface of the major Browns sulphide deposit. CMR has strategic agreements with other resources companies, including Territory Iron Pty Ltd for iron ore exploration and Alkane Exploration Ltd for gold exploration.

CMR was created in Queensland in August 1984. It made its debut on the ASX in November 1987. The Company is headquartered in Roseville, NSW. The Company was renamed from Compass Resources NL to Compass Resources Limited in August 2008.
