Dyesol (DYE) is involved in the development, manufacture, commercialisation and supply of Dye Solar Cell (DSC) equipment and technology. DYE offers a range of products and services, including materials, consulting, research and development, licensing, training, turnkey manufacturing and laboratory facilities. DSC technology uses solar energy to produce electric currents by artificially imitating photosynthesis using electrolytes, titania and ruthenium dye on surfaces made of metal, glass and polymer. It operates in Australia, Asia (including Singapore and Republic of Korea) and Europe (including Switzerland, Italy and the United Kingdom). On July 30, 2008, the Company entered into a joint venture agreement with Timo Technology Co. Ltd. involving a jointly-controlled entity called Dyesol-Timo Co. Ltd, to commercialize Dye Solar Technology (DSC) in Korea.

DYE is a leader in the commercialisation of DSC technology, the first available third-generation solar technology. DSC is more effective than competitive technologies in being able to produce electricity in low and variable light conditions. DSC technology has lower cost and embodied energy in manufacture, and can be directly incorporated into buildings by replacing conventional glass panels or metal sheets rather then taking up roof or extra land area.

The company manufactures and supplies a range of DSC products comprising equipment, chemicals, materials, components and related services to researchers and manufacturers of DSC as well as universities and corporations in Asia, Europe, the USA and Australia. Dyesol competes with manufacturers and developers of Dye Solar Cells.

Dyesol History

DYE was incorporated on 9 November 2004. It listed on the ASX on 31 August 2005. The head office, laboratories and manufacturing operations of DYE are located in Queanbeyan, NSW. In December 2005, the company signed a A$3.15M contract to supply the technology and materials for Europe's first manufacturing plant for dye solar cells in Greece.
