Focus Minerals (FML) is an exploration company primarily searching for gold and nickel, with tenements mainly in Australia. Key projects are located in the Kalgoorlie-Coolgardie-Widgiemooltha region of Western Australia. The company was listed on the ASX on 13 September 2000. In March 2003, Austminex acquired Focus Minerals Ltd. In June 2005, Austminex exercised its option to purchase the Coolgardie Gold Project, through a Joint Venture partnership with Canadian-based Matador Exploration Inc.

In June 2009, the Company commenced 5,000 meters drilling campaign, targeting extensions to known deposits within the Tindals Mining Centre. The Company’s subsidiaries are Austminex Pty Ltd, Focus Operations Pty Ltd and Underground Drilling Services Pty Ltd.

The acquisition of the Coolgardie Gold project has allowed Focus Minerals to solidify its holdings in the historic Coolgardie Gold Belt. FML's project contains high-quality gold deposits that are accessible by open-pit and underground mining. The company's Nepean Nickel Mine is also highly prospective for nickel sulphide resources.

Focus Minerals major competitors include other gold and nickel explorers within Australia, such as Aquila Resources Limited (AQA). Customers include wholesalers, the retail sector and international markets.
