Hostech (HTC) is an Australian IP business telephony company and traditional business phone installer. Hostech provides traditional phone installation and telephony services through its wholly owned subsidiaries Sholl Communications and AK Communications Australia. The Company's other wholly owned subsidiary OneNetwork, provides business grade hosted IP telephony services. Investors can trade Hostech shares on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).
HTC was listed on the Australian stock market as a public company on 1986. The company is headquartered in Sydney and has a technical development facility in Brisbane. The company develops customised mobile solutions for individual customers that need to extend their networks to support mobile handsets. All solutions are developed on open platforms to ensure they work in multi-carrier, hardware and operating system environments.
Major competitors would be other technological firms, both domestic and international, that specialise in the area of software design and providing IT optimisation solutions for their clients. MobiPod applications and solutions are sold primarily to mobile carriers, medium to large enterprises, systems integrators, internet service providers, commercial service providers and mobile handset manufacturers.
Hostech has also announced the acquisition of 4 more businesses, which were approved by shareholders at an EGM on March 30. Anittel, Aspirence, AXXIS and Accord, are IT services and sales businesses with a strong presence in regional areas and a loyal base of small to medium businesses. With these acquisitions, Hostech will be well placed to provide a comprehensive range of IT&T services to meet a broad range of business needs.
With the backing of shareholders, a recently re-invigorated balance sheet and a strong board and executive team, Hostech (ASX:HTC) is executing on a plan of aggressive growth through acquisition. Company's strategy is to build a significant IT&T capability in order to service regional Australia and small to medium enterprises, a sector of the market sorely overlooked by the major players.
