Ironbark Capital (IBC) makes investments in a portfolio of ASX listed shares and fixed income securities with a focus on achieving absolute returns. Its core business activities are investing, revenue generation and investment income from Australian listed securities and unit trusts. IBC listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) on 2nd April, 1987.
IBC’s investments are managed by Kaplan Funds Management Pty Limited while White Outsourcing Pty Limited provides administration management services to the Company. Ironbark Capital uses a conservative investment strategy which focuses on providing medium to longterm capital growth.
IBC’s share portfolio focuses on obtaining a positive investment return averaging 12% per annum over time with an emphasis on deriving income and; a portfolio yield 1% more than the ASX 300 Index benchmark, while maintaining the portfolio risk lower than the ASX 300 Index. The Company’s long term investment objective is to achieve a growth in Net Tangible Asset per share above the ASX 300 Accumulation Index. As at 31 December 2008 the Company held a market capiltalisation of $61.3 million, with shareholders funds of $69.4 million and issued capital of 149.61 million on the Australian Stock Exchange.
Ironbark Capital History
IBC formerly known as the BT Australian Equity fund (BTE), made its debut on the Australian Stock Exchange in April 1987. BT Funds Management Limited (BTF) was the manager of the Company until December 2002 when Westpac Bank acquired BTF. Kaplan Funds Management, a wholesale funds management company became the new manager of the fund. The Company adopted its present name and ASX company code Ironbark Capital Limited (IBC) in April 2003.
