Jetset Travelworld (JET) operates a travel agency franchise business providing wholesale, retail and business travel-related products and services across Australia. The company also operates an integrated airline ticketing facility in all mainland states. JET comprises Jetset, Travelworld, Orient Pacific, Qantas Business Travel and Qantas Holidays (including the Viva! brand). It has three segments: Retail, Wholesale and Business Travel. The Company has retail travel networks with more than 640 member outlets. JTG has an alliance with the First Travel Group, which operates more than 50 outlets in New Zealand. JTG operates three wholesale brands: Qantas Holidays, Viva! Holidays and Orient Pacific Holidays.
Jetset Travelworld (JET) is an integrated business that covers all segments of the travel market, including retail, wholesale and corporate. The company operates across consumer, trade and online sales channels. JET's agencies provide airline, car, hotel, tour, cruise, special event bookings and packaged holiday services. JET has an in-house travel insurance product, Travellers Assistance. JET also has several alliances including with a travel provider, television network and a global travel organisation.
Customers of JET consist of the general public, airlines, wholesalers, businesses, cruise companies and tour operators. Qantas Business Travel provides services to government departments, large corporate and small to medium enterprises. Major competitors are other travel agencies and other leisure and tourism related businesses, providing same services to the general public and businesses.
Jetset Travelworld History
Jetset Travelworld (JET) began as a small one-man travel agency in Sunshine, Victoria in 1963. In the 1980s, it had become Australia's largest provider of international holiday travel programs followed by expansion across New Zealand, Asia, Europe and North America. JET listed on the ASX on 13 September 2000. The Jetset Travelworld Group was formed in May 2001 with the acquisition of National World Travel. In July 2008, JET merged with Qantas Holidays Limited and Qantas Business Travel Pty Limited.
