The principal business operations of the Company include the exploration and development of rare earths deposits as well as the discovery of other mineral resources. Lynas listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 11th of September, 1986. The Company is also focused on the planning, design and development of a concentration facility and advanced materials processing unit.

Shareholders Propose Bid for Lynas Deposit

After the disputed sale of Lynas Corporation's (ASX:LYC) Crown and Swan deposits fell through last week, two shareholders are planning to file a bid to acquire the assets. Bob Watson, chair of recruitment website Seek and software millionaire Mark Suhr are said to be finalising their bid this week.

Lynas Delays Meeting with Forge

Lynas Corporation (ASX:LYC) delayed its meeting to consider a development deal with Forge Resources until the middle of June. The meeting is schedule on may 18 instead. Since the announcement of the deal, Lynas has received questions from shareholders.

Lynas decided to use an updated explanatory memorandum to answer questions that had been raised regarding the proposed deal. The memorandum will be available some time in the middle of May.

Lynas' Processing Plant Threatened by Protests

Lynas Corporation's (ASX:LYC) rare earth processing plant in Malaysia is threatened by protests due to concerns of radiation pollution. Local residents are concerned that health problems caused by Mitsubishi refinery which closed back in 1992 might happen again. Due to this, the Malaysian government has announced that it will create a panel to review the $220 million plant that is going to be constructed in Gebeng, an industrial zone in Pahang.

Lynas Faces Legal Action

Rare earth miner Lynas Corporation (ASX:LYC) faces legal action from shareholders over the proposed sale of polymetallic resource to Forge Resources. It has raised concerns about conflict of interest. Nicholas Curtis, Lynas executive chairman and 15 percent shareholder of Forge, stands to settle 24 million in Forge shares worth $30 million if the deal is successful.
