Macquarie DDR Trust (MDT) is a specialist retail property investment trust. MDT invests in a portfolio of retail properties across United States and in other assets across Australia. Macquarie DDR Trust listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 26 November, 2003. The total assets under management, as at 30th June 2008 were A$2.4 billion. MDT holds 85% interest in more than 81 Community shopping centres, which together with its lately acquired Mervyn stores, based in North America, are a major source of income for the Trust. Macquarie DDR Management Limited is the manger of Macquarie DDR Trust, and it is a 50/50 joint venture between Macquarie Group Limited and Developers Diversified Realty (Developers Diversified) of the US. This structure allows unitholders to share expertise of each partner – in this case Macquarie in capital and funds management and Developers Diversified in the administration and growth of community shopping centres. Macquarie DDR Trust provides its investors with an opportunity to invest in a world class portfolio of US retail community shopping centres.

MDT was formed in November 2003, with a focus on acquiring an 85% interest in a portfolio of community shopping centres operated by DDR.
