Mariner Financial (MFI) is a global diversified specialist asset and fund management Company. MFI specialises in originating, structuring and distributing investment products for Australian investors. Mariner Financial listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 20 June, 1986. The Company operates in United States, Europe, Australia and Asia through its offices in London, Boston, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. At present, MFI holds $1.3b in assets under management. During fiscal 2008, the Company had been engaged in property investment and property development; retirement and superannuation investment, and infrastructure investment. MFI markets its investment products through independent advisory intermediaries. Mariner packages and markets products to the retirement income market, such as Lifestyle Bonds and Reverse Mortgages through Mariner Retirement Solutions (MRT) which is its its 100% owned subsidiary. MFI has also developed a suite of specialised Managed Funds that offer a number of open and close ended managed investment products for retail, wholesale and institutional investors. In April 2008, Mariner Financial announced to sell its remaining units held in the Mariner Pipeline Income Fund to APA Group. MFI focuses on seeking the best opportunities to provide yield and growth investment products that aid in wealth accumulation. The Company’s high skill set allows it to offer innovative financial products and services together with efficiently managing these products.
Mariner Financial History
The Company was incorporated in New South Wales under the name Australian Assets Corporation Limited in 1985. AUA initially listed on the second board. It was elevated to the main board in 1989. The Company adopted its present name Mariner Financial Limited (MFI) in 2003.
