Metabolic Pharmaceuticals (MBP) is a biotechnology company with around 300 million issued shares. The principal focus of the Company is to take innovative drugs, with strong market potential, through research, formal preclinical and clinical development. MBP developed a drug development platform, for the oral delivery of various injected peptide drugs. This platform offers high potential for use by other companies engaged in the development of peptide drugs together with providing a number of out-licensing opportunities. Metabolic listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 26th November, 1998 and it employs 20 people. MBP has partnership with Neuren Pharmaceuticals Limited (NZ) for the development of Neural Regeneration Peptides (NRPs). NRPs are a group of small peptide drugs that protect nerves from damage and aid them in recovering. In August 2007, MBP ceased the development of its neuropathic pain drug, ACV1. The Company has a number of projects in its development pipeline. The Company is focused on reducing the infrastructure costs by contracting out research and development operations to a network of contractors and specialists around the globe.

Metabolic Pharmaceuticals History

The Company floated on the Australian Stock Exchange in 1998. It opened its state-of-the-art premises part of the Alfred Medical Research and Education Project in May 2001.
