Mitchell Communication Group (MCU) is an independent communications group that provides traditional and online media strategy, planning and buying, digital creative and technology services, search engine marketing and optimisation, public relations, direct marketing, outdoor advertising and corporate social responsibility consulting services. MCU has four divisions Media, Digital, Diversified and Technology. MCU is headquartered in Melbourne, Victoria and operates in Australia and New Zealand.
Emitch (EMI) was formed 1999, operating in online advertising. Mitchell & Partners was founded in 1976 by Harold Mitchell as an independent media buying agency. EMI was listed on the ASX on 10 March 2000. In May 2007, EMI was renamed to Mitchell Communication Group following the acquisition by EMI of Mitchell & Partners in April 2007. The ASX code was change to MCU on 15 May 2007. The company has undertaken a number of acquisitions in recent years.
Mitchell Communication Group is Australia's largest billing agency (based on media billings). MCU has a diversified business which allows it to provide an integrated service to its clients. MCU also has solid, long-standing supplier relationships, which allows it to secure competitive, cross-platform deals. The Diversified division's cross-selling capability has delivered the group organic growth and improved profitability.
MCU's clients are largely Australian based. MCU has over 900 individual clients including SME's and blue-chip companies that operate in various industries. Clients include Optus Singtel, BMW Automotive, Simplot, Flight Centre, George Weston Foods, The Good Guys, Google, Domino's, Australian Federal Police, ANZ, Funtastic, AFL and Cricket Australia. Competitors include other organisations that are involved in traditional and online media marketing.
