Mortgage Choice (MOC) is a leading mortgage broker and provider of associated financial services. Its core business activity is the provision of specialist home loan advice to customers about a range of home loan products from banks or lenders on its panel. Mortgage Choice listed on the Australia Stock Exchange on 10 August, 2004. The Company offers assistance in determining the borrowing capacities of intending residential mortgage borrowers; it carries out the appraisal at the request of those borrowers about a variety of home loan products and it submits loan applications on behalf of intending borrowers. The Company represents in excess of 28 lenders and it mainly focuses on home owners and investors in the residential market. Mortgage Choice operates a network of more than 400 franchises throughout Australia. The Company’s loan book as at 30 June 2008 was valued at $33.27 billion. MOC has a strong presence in the Australian home loan market and over the period of 16 years it has provided services to in excess of 200,000 customers to find their home loan. The Company has received a number of industry awards for its services and branding. MOC has access to a diverse range of loan products from a number of experienced and professional lending institutions, including banks and building societies. Unlike other mortgage brokers the Company does not sell its own home loans products and its fully accredited consultants receive the same commission no matter which loan or lender the client chooses.
Mortgage Choice History
Mortgage Choice was founded in Sydney in 1992 by Rod Higgins and Peter Higgins, with a vision to establish a nationwide franchise network of ethical and professional residential property mortgage brokers. The Company has now become a leading mortgage broker in Australia. It listed on the ASX on August 10, 2004. MOC is the only specialist mortgage broker listed on the ASX.
