MYOB (MYO) caters software development and publishing solutions to small and medium enterprises worldwide. Its business operations are mainly held in Australia, United Kingdom and New Zealand. It listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 9th of July, 1999. Its business division focuses on the provision of business management software and services to small and medium enterprises. The Company’s accountants segment caters business software and services to accounting firms. On January 4, 2007, MYOB New Zealand Ltd, which is the subsidiary of MYOB, acquired the remaining 25% shareholding in Exonet New Zealand. On May 18, 2007, it also completed the acquisition of remaining 49% interests in Accountants Resourcing Holdings Pty Ltd. MYOB has a strong presence in Australian market and to date it offers services to over 700,000 businesses and 10,000 accounting firms throughout the world, with operations in five countries across Asia-Pacific. MYOB is committed to provide leading edge solutions to its customers, thus enabling them to achieve maximum profit from their business activities.
MYOB History
MYOB was founded by Brad Shofer and Craig Winkler in 1991. It listed on the ASX on July 9, 1999. MYOB entered into the markets of North America and Europe through the acquisition of all intellectual property associated with MYOB name throughout the world, in 1996. MYOB was also awarded with the prestigious Telstra and Australian Governments' Small Business of the Year Award, during 1996. In 1997, MYOB expanded its business operations to cater the needs of accounting firms. In 2004, MYOB merged with accountants' system provider Solution 6. In 2008, MYOB ceased its operations in Europe, and entered into the web hosting business through the acquisition of SmartyHost and Ilisys.
