Origin Energy
Origin Energy Limited (ORG) is an Australian-based company focusing on the oil and gas exploration and production, electricity generation, wholesaling and retailing of gas and electricity and investment in utility infrastructure management. ORG was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on the 13th of July 1961. Its average annual revenue reaches approximately $6 billion out of its issued capital of $400 million. Its headquarters is located in Sydney, Australia and to date; around 4,018 people are employed in the company.
Exploration and energy producer, Origin Energy (ASX:ORG) have released its quarterly production report to December 31 2012 where it reported flat production and flat revenue. The report and numbers below includes only its exploration and production arm, but excludes energy generation and sales.

The British Gas giant, BG Group, is back with its offer bid price of $15.50 a share for a hostile takeover of Origin Energy (ORG). Its offer had been earlier rejected its offer stating that the sale price has to be "a lot more" that $15.50 a share price. This time the BG has offered the price directly to its shareholders. It had earlier offered a price of $14.70 a-share price but had revised it by 48 percent to $15.50.
Royal Dutch Shell has become the third company to strike a deal for coal seam methane projects that are rapidly evolving in the Queensland area. It struck a $776 million deal with Arrow Energy (AOE) to improve setting up of multiple LNG plants in the region. It now holds 30 percent stake in Arrow’s CSM licenses in the state. The deal is yet to be examined by the Foreign Investment Review Board.
Origin Energy (ORG) has a share price target of $17.01 from Australian stockmarket analyst Macquarie Research Equities.
