Patties Foods (PFL) is a manufacturer, distributor and marketer of frozen savoury and dessert products. PFL's produces a wide range of products including party pies, sausage rolls, quiches, pizzas, meat pies, fruit pies, frozen fruits and vegatables, frozen fruit purees, mixed fruit, crepes and burritos PFL's brands include Four'N Twenty, Patties Pies, Herbert Adams, Snowy River, Creative Gourmet, Arriba, Chef's Pride and Nanna's. The company distributes products in Australia and New Zealand.
The company was founded by Peter and Annie Rijs in 1966 as Patties Foods, a cake shop in Lakes Entrance, Victoria. Another bakery was built in the area in 1974. The company undertook a number of acquisitions over the years. In 1985 a pie factory was built and production was moved to Bairnsdale. Patties began exporting to Melbourne in 1986 and to New Zealand in 1995. In 2003 Patties acquired the brands Four'n Twenty, Herbert Adams and Nanna's. PFL listed on the Australian stockmarket (ASX) in November 2006.
Patties Foods owns a high quality portfolio of iconic Australian brands. These brands have strong market shares and are supported by considerable brand investment by the company.The Company’s subsidiaries include Chef's Pride Pty Ltd and Creative Gourmet Pty Ltd.
Its customers include major retailers and independents such as Coles, Woolworths and IGA; institutional and correctional centres, hotels, restaurants and cafes, franchise groups, service stations, convenience stores, sporting venues, schools and events including 7 Eleven, Michel's Patisserie, Mobil, MCG, Delaware Catering, Bidvest, KFC, Pizza Hut and Gabba Stadium. Patties Foods' competitors include food manufacturers both locally and internationally. PFL's main competitor is Sargent Pies.
