Platinum Australia (PLA) is a platinum group metals explorer and developer. The Company holds interests in diverse advanced PGM projects in South Africa and Australia. Its principal projects include the Panton Platinum Palladium Project in Western Australia and the Smokey Hills PGM and Kalahari Platinum projects in South Africa. PLA listed on the A on 9th October, 2000. Smokey Hills Project is situated on the eastern limb of the Bushveld Complex and it includes an open pit and underground mining operation with an onsite processing plant having an annual production capacity of ~100,000 oz 4E PGM. The Company’s Kalahari Platinum Project is situated 350 km west of Johannesburg in the North West Province. The Company has a formal Joint Venture Agreement with African Rainbow Minerals Platinum (Proprietary) Ltd (ARMplatinum). PLA can earn up to 49% of the Kalplats Project from ARMplatinum. The Kalplats Area of Influence (AoI) Project spans around 20 kilometers. The Panton Project is situated 60 km north of Halls Creek and 60 kilometer south of the Sally Malay nickel mine, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The Panton Project is estimated to have high grade resource of 10 Mt @ 6.1 g/t PGM. PLA has developed a new metallurgical process known as Panton Process for the recovery of PGM's. This process is patented and it offers several potential benefits such as potential improved recoveries, reduced transportation costs for concentrate, increased value of final product and improved environmental safety. PLA has specialised knowledge and expertise in PGM industry and it aims to become a leading PGM producer.
