Quantum Energy (QTM) is an innovator and a manufacturer of advanced renewable energy hot water, building and pool heating products for household and commercial applications. The company uses a patented heat pump technology for the production of hot water. This technology can reduce energy costs compared with traditional methods. QTM distributes throughout Australia, New Zealand and China.

The 'heat pump' technology utilised by QTM was developed by Melbourne University in the mid 1970s. The technology has been progressively developed, and Quantum now produces hot water heaters, pool heaters as well as residential, commercial and industrial building heaters. QTM was created in the 1980s and listed on the Australian stockmarket (ASX) on 30 August 1993. In 2002-2003, QTM commenced manufacturing and distribution businesses with Chinese partners, in Shandong and Yunnan provinces, China.

QTM heating systems utilise a unique solar heat pump technology that offers cost and power savings. The system produces hot water 24 hours a day and does not require direct sunlight or roof-mounted solar panels. It can operate in temperatures from -10C to +40C, both day and night, without the need for boosting. The system is environment-friendly, reducing greenhouse gas emissions. QTM manufactures heaters that are suitable for small domestic households through to large buildings and complexes.

There are currently a wide variety of organisations using the QTM technology throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and South Africa. Major customers include sustainable energy homes, cost-conscious domestic users, schools, restaurants and small industrial users. QTM competes with conventional water heater manufacturers and other solar panel systems. Competitors include Rheem, Dux Australia, Solarhart and Rinnai.
