Further Reading
Redisland Australia (RLA) (formerly Piquant Blue Limited) is involved in the marketing of Australian olive oil. The company focuses primarily on the marketing end of the olive oil value chain and generally avoids direct involvement in production. RLA is based in Western Australia but sources its olives from around Australia. PQB’s flagship brand, njoi, is exported to Britain, France and the USA.
Redisland was established in early 2003 and raised further capital by way of share issue and IPO. The company was listed on the Australian stock market (ASX) on 7 Jan 2004 and in May 2004 Timbercorp Limited, one of Australia's largest olive grower, took a strategic stake in RLA and entered into an ongoing olive oil supply contract.
Redisland focuses on the marketing and distribution of Olive Oil products. The company concentrates on a specific niche area in the Olive Oil industry as limited investments have been made in effective marketing and distribution of Australian Olive Oil products. RLA builds key alliances with both producers and distributors in Australia and overseas and continues to build on its marketing successes by growing its capacity to find markets for the industry's production.
Concentrating on a niche market, marketing olive oil this area of production has been limited in investment. Competition would be minimal in the production of effective marketing of this agricultural product. PQB's brand targets the upper end of the supermarket retail market and local retail outlets. Redisland operates in Australia and United States. Its subsidiaries include AOX Pty Ltd, Victorian Olive Oil Project limited, Popeye Holdings Pty Ltd and Redisland Marketing Pty Ltd.
