Rubicon Japan Trust (RJT) is a property investment trust that provides investors with an access to a portfolio of Japanese commercial real estate sector and a platform for future investment opportunities in the Japanese real estate market. The Trust listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 31 October 2006 and it is headquartered in Edgecliff, Australia. The manager of Rubicon Japan Trust is Rubicon Asset Management Limited, a financial services group which is wholly owned by Rubicon Holdings (Aust) Limited. In December 2007, Allco Finance Group Ltd., acquired the rest 79.6% stake of Rubicon Holdings (Aust) Limited. As of June 30, 2007, the Trust held a portfolio of 22 office and retail properties with net lettable area of 173,789 square meters located in seven markets comprising Tokyo, Nagoya, Sapporo, Chiba, and Kumamoto. At present the combined value of the RJT Portfolio together with the Transaction Portfolio is ¥115.05 billion which is around A$1.2 billion. The Manager has appointed DTZ, a key global real estate advisory company under an exclusive long term agreement to source real estate acquisitions for Rubicon Japan Trust and to provide services in the areas of asset acquisition and asset management. RJT focuses on acquiring Japanese real estate investments that offers enhancement of risk-adjusted returns to Investors. RJT also aims to provide partial protection to Investors from fluctuations arising in equity capital due to adverse movements in foreign exchange rates.
