S&P/ASX 200 Energy (XEJ) is an index which represents the Energy sector. S&P/ASX Energy Sector includes companies involved in exploration and development of energy resources such as coal, uranium, oil, gas and renewable energy assets. This includes companies which are undertaking the following activities: the construction or provision of oil rigs, drilling equipment and other energy related service and equipment, including seismic data collection; or, companies engaged in the exploration, production, marketing, refining and/or transportation of oil and gas products, coal and other consumable fuels.

Australia is the world's largest coal exporter and a significant supplier of Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) and uranium.
