Further Reading
Stellar Resources (SRZ) was originally formed as a wholly owned subsidiary of Gravity Diamonds Limited (formerly Gravity Capital Ltd). SRZ has gold and base metals projects in New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania.
Stella Resources listed on the Australian stock market (ASX) on 28 April 2005. Stella Resources have selected its exploration targets through the use of the Falcon airborne gravity technology. This technology is a proven geophysical tool and enhances SRZ's ability to collect data of its various tenements.
As an explorer, Stella Resources has no customers at present. SRZ competes with gold explorers including Arafura Resources NL (ARU), Danae Resources NL (DNS) and Midas Resources (MDS). Competing base metals explorers include BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto. Markets for gold and base metals are global, and SRZ would ultimately be subject to international competition.
The Company’s subsidiaries include Balrone Holdings Pty Ltd, Rilo Explorations Pty Ltd, Bridgedale Holdings Pty Ltd and Hiltaba Gold Pty Ltd. On April 2, 2008, the Company completed the acquisition of 60% of Western Metals Limited.
Gold Projects
Stellar Resources is exploring for Gold in several locations. At Tarcoola, in South Australia, Stellar is following up the initial encouraging exploration that previous explorers have encountered when exploring around the old Tarcoola Goldfield, which has been mined since the early 1900s.
At the Sunshine Project, located in the vicinity of the Challenger gold mine in South Australia, Stellar has located gold mineralisation in a similar geological environment.
Tin Projects
Stellar holds a 60% interest in the Heemskirk Tin Project located immediately north of Zeehan on Tasmania's west coast. The project was previously explored by Aberfoyle Limited who estimated an historic JORC resource of 3.6 million tonnes grading at 1.21% tin or 43,700 tonnes of contained tin.
Heemskirk Tin represents the largest undeveloped high grade tin resource in Australia. It is located near well established infrastructure and within 18 kilometres of the Renison Bell tin concentrator.
