It's been over two years since we last did a scan for stocks. Here is a scan of the top 200 stocks from the ASX stockmarket. These are the companies which compose the ASX 200 index.

These stocks increased their share price by the most percentage points on the Australian share market, the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) from the last week of trading (38th week of 2010: 20th to 24th September). Stocks in this watchlist include: CAB, FKP, ASX, WAN, APN, VBA, SPT, FMG, ERA, CDU, SPN, CGF, FWD, KCN, AAX. Other lists of Australian companies by Market capitalisation.
Australian Stock Exchange analysts, Macquarie Research Equities have recognised some trading opportunities as ASX200 has an Index change. The analysts' quant team has done some work around the changes to the Standard & Poor indices which were announced last Friday. New additions and deletions to the Australian indices were announced by S&P on 1 June with changes taking effect at close on 15 June. Demand by index (and enhanced index) funds, when stocks enter/exit indices, generally sees stocks outperform/underperform following announcement.
Oxiana (OXR) was the best performing shares among the shares listed on the ASX100 index (Winner of the Week for week 13 of 2007). This miner saw its shares increase in value by 10.99 percent or 31 cents to close the week at $3.13. The All Ordinaries closed the week at 6063.4 and the ASX200 index closed at 6077.1.
Energy Dev (ENE) was the worst performing shares among those listed companies in the ASX200 index (Loser of the Week for week 11 of 2007). This power company shed 6.92 percent or 36 cents closing the week lower at $4.84. The All Ordinaries index closed at 5933.1 and the ASX200 index closed at 5952.3.
Fortescue Metal (FMG) is the best performing company on the ASX200 index this week (Winner of the week of week 10 of 2007). This mining company closed the week at $20.20, $2.55 higher or 14.45 percent. The All Ordinaries closed the week at 5817.8 while the ASX200 index closed at 5836.3.
ABC Learning (ABS) is the best performing company in the ASX100 index this week (Winner of the Week of week 10 of 2007). The child care and education company closed the week at $7.38, 68 cents or 10.15 percent higher. The All Ordinaries closed the week at 5817.8 while the ASX200 index closed at 5836.3.
Kingsgate (KCN) is the best performing company on the ASX200 index this week (Winner of the Week for week 9 of 2007). The company closed the week 14.75 percent higher gaining 55 cents and closing the week at $4.28 per share. The ASX All Ordinaries closed at 5810.2 and the ASX200 index closed at 5830.2.
