OrotonGroup (ORL) is a leading Australian fashion brand manger. It is engaged in the retailing and wholesale of leather goods, fashion apparel and related accessories under the two leading premium brands, the Oroton and Polo Ralph Lauren in Australasia. A variety of fashion apparel is made available to customers through major retail outlets including the ORL’s own boutique brand outlets. ORL OrtonGroup listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 18th June, 1987. ORL’s headquarters is located in the inner city Sydney suburb of Waterloo and it employs circa 600 personnel.

OrotonGroup Loses Ralph Lauren License


Australian brands retailer, OrotonGroup (ASX:ORL) have emerged from their trading halt to announce that they have lost their license to sell Ralph Lauren products in Australia. The American clothing and accessories designer has ended the 23 year long relationship with Oroton. The license will not renew or be extended beyond its expiry next year June 30.

Oroton (ORL), an upmarket Australian fashion house, has found that even during the global financial crisis, women were still in the market for pricey upmarket handbags and accessories. Sally Macdonald, the Oroton Chief Executive joined Oroton Group in September 2006 when the company reported a $9.4 million loss a result of high costs, underperforming brands and a string of dud acquisition deals under the leadership of controlling shareholders the Lane family.
