Santos Limited First Half 1H Profit Results


Gas and petroleum company, Santos (ASX:STO) have reported their first half (1H) earnings to the stockmarket.

  • Underlying profit was $283 million, up 20 percent. (analysts forecasts was $270 million)
  • Underlying profits excluded asset sales in the previous first half, sale of 15 percent of Santos stake in Gladstone QLD LNG project.
  • Net profit was down to $262 million from $504 million or 48 percent, for the corresponding period.

Santos in Talks with Sinopec over Gas Deal


Gas and petroleum based company Santos Limited (STO), which is involved in the business of exploration, production, marketing and transportation of hydrocarbons with primary focus on Australia is currently holding talks with China based energy company Sinopec over a $400 million worth of stake in its Queensland liquefied natural gas project which will allow Santos to get an upper hand in the competitive industry.

Santos Loses Revenue Due to Lower Oil Price


Santos Limited (STO), an Australia based company that concentrates on exploration, production, marketing and transportation of oil and gas has posted a sharp drop for its yearly revenue for the year 2009 due to the low oil price which fell at the middle of the year and continued throughout the rest of the year while the company maintained an unchanged volume of production.
