Alcoa: $US191m Net Loss for 4Q


Following its curtailment announcement last week, largest US aluminum producer Alcoa Inc. (AAI) reported that it has incurred a $US191 million net loss for the fourth quarter or 18 US cents a share due to falling aluminum price and high production cost.

Elders $395m Loss: Future Improvements


Adelaide-based rural services and automotive group Elders (ELD) is still keeping a positive outlook after declaring a $395.4 million annual loss for the year to September 2011.

From the company's $217.6 million loss during the previous period to this year's bigger loss, Elders forestry assets are now being sold off after contributing $335.4m of this year's deficit. $64.6m of the deficit came from other non-recurring items and discontinued operations.

AAco Reports Net Loss


Australian beef cattle producer, AAco (ASX:AAC) has reported a net loss of $12.2 million in the 2009-2010 fiscal year to June 30. The net loss is less compared to the previous year when Australian Agricultural Company reported a loss of $30.3 a year.

James Hardie Reports Full Year Net Loss


Manufacturer specialist James Hardie Industries N.V. (JHX), a company that operates in number countries across the globe including Australia, New Zealand and the United States has posted a net loss for the full-year after the asbestos liabilities ballooned. In a statement, the leading manufacturing company included that its loss of $US84.9 million for the 12 months ended during March where a year earlier it posted a $US136.3 million worth of net profit.

Australand Records Net Tax Loss for Last Year


Australand Property Group (ALZ), a renowned Australia based diversified property group that has operations in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and south east Queensland posted a $298.2 million worth of net tax loss for the full year to December 31st, 2009 and stated that it is not expecting to see any pick up in earnings before the next year.
