Australian Ethical Investment (AEF) invests in predominantly investments that support society and the environment. Australian Ethical Investment (formerly August Financial Management Ltd) was established in 1986. It originally managed a private ethical trust until 1989 when, what is now the Australian Ethical Balanced Trust, opened for public subscription. It was listed on the ASX on 17 December 2002. AEF is an independent funds manager, specialising in environmental and socially responsible investment.
