Origin and Partners Go for Gladstone Project


Origin Energy (ASX:ORG) Origin Energy and US-based ConocoPhillips are going full steam ahead on the first stage of their $12.69 billion LNG project.

Gladstone was the third coal-seam gas plant to be approved in eight months, and the deal would make the plant the country's top gas export hub.

Woodside Signs $30B Native Title Deal


Woodside Petroleum (ASX:WPL) has signed a $30 billion agreement with native landowners to develop the Browse Basin liquefied natural gas export project in Kimberley, Western Australia.

Under the agreement with the Goolarabooloo Jabirr Jabirr Aborigines, Woodside pledged more than $1 billion to the native communities in the form of education, housing and initiatives, spread over 30 years.

Woodside Hits Gas at Xeres-1


Woodside Petroleum (ASX:WPL) reported today that it has discovered gas reserves at its Xeres-1 well in Western Australia.

Woodside,--which has a full equity interest in Xeres-1--along with joint venture partners WA-34-L Tokyo Gas and Kansai Electric, stand to acquire a 5 percent interest in the well.

The well is about 12 kilometres from the Pluto-1 discovery in licence WA-34-L, Carnarvon Basin, Western Australia.

Arrow Energy (AOE), one of the renowned coal seam gas producer and explorer of Australia with a current market capitalisation of over AUS$2 billion with resources in south and central Queensland and northern New South Wales was at the number winning company of the 10th week in ASX100 with a gain of 49.4 percent or $1.72 to its stock price closing the week at $5.20 (market capitalisation $3808.4 million).
